Photography Fun

I did a wedding last week and I had the chance to work with Shelly Funke from Dallas. I was amazed to watch her work all night. She was able to command the room and direct people in what she wanted them to do and have fun at the same time while doing it. She lit up people by having them kick up their legs like dancers. The result is that our clients got great photos and those people had more fun and put that energy right back into the event.

This is one of the benefits of being served by people who love what they do. When I spoke with Shelly at the end of the night I was amazed to hear her story. She has been shooting for more than 25 years and I asked her if she had a website. She said "no, all of my business is word of mouth."

I've done lots of events over my 25+ year DJ career and I am able to see many distinctions working with other vendors. I am always curious to see who is really enjoying themself as they work. I see for many people, it's just another job--not that there is anything wrong with that. There is just an opportunity to put more fun into the equation and make the event that much more special. When you bring the intention to play and entertain those you work with, the outcome can go in many unexpected ways. That to me is truly great service. You love what you do and you allow everyone to enjoy it with you.

Here is a photo of hers from that night.
