Kelly Blue Testimonial

In the chaos that is wedding planning, and through the endless nights of wedding nightmares, I had one guarantee of the special day (other than being sure my fiance was 'the one') and that was that the reception would go off without a hitch - all due to RJ. He is the nicest, most well-mannered, caring and fun individual and we absolutely loved working with him. My parents raved about how nice he was - he actually cares enough to send you 10 revised playlists to make sure they meet your needs. He is creative and offered CJ and I fun reception add on's like walk out songs for each of our wedding party. Our reception was anything other than expected and it's in large part to RJ. His sound quality is amazing, his interaction with guests is phenomenal and he really made CJ and I feel like we were the ONLY wedding he had the entire year. He made us feel special and he made the reception unforgettable.

Big thanks to Kelly at MyMintPhotography for sending the photos to us. I really enjoyed working with her that day. Visit the StyleMePretty website to see the rest of them.

In Service at KAZI

Last week I was given an appreciation award for 28 years of service at KAZI 88.7 FM. I started there in high school and never thought I would stay for so long. I still love to do radio and every time I do a show it always give me energy. I love to open up those request lines and see what people will call in and ask for.

I have to say a big huge thank you to our station manager, Steve Savage who has given me lots of opportunities to keep growing and learning.

Creating Connection

If you hire a professional Emcee with a creative flair and a sense of humor, he/she can create a personal connection between your guests and make everyone feel like family! That’s a great tip!

Ceremony Music

A great article here about ceremony music from Austin event planners, Clink:

Getting Along

The most important single ingredient in the formula of success is knowing how to get along with people.
~ Theodore Roosevelt

That great truth from Teddy inspired me to write a bit about this topic.

As an entrepreneur for over 7 years, I see more and more that you can be the most talented person at what you do, but if you're not able to get along with people, you're going to be challenged to do well in business.

For me, it is the most important thing in my business.

For example, when I have a couple that is getting married, I want to meet with them in person, or on Skype for us to get to know each other. I am honored to be part of a couple's wedding celebration and they should feel great hiring me as their entertainer and know that they will be taken care of.

Getting along with the other vendors is very important for me too. The success of the event is built on the cooperation of all of the team players involved getting along. It only takes a minute to go and speak to the photographer or banquet coordinator to say hello and introduce myself (with an open heart and a smile of course). I tell them who I am and that I look forward to working with them that day.

I'm there to serve and give people what they want and I can only do that when I'm enjoying myself. I see it's my job to get along with people and just enjoy them so that is the intention that I set with every event and project I do.

When I do that, it creates the space for the success of the event. Like this one:

We Are Not Selling Music

This article reminds me of the connection I create with my clients to make their events magical. For me it is the most important thing in my business.

We don't sell "just music" but the memories that we create together with our connection.

How To Hire Entertainment For Your Wedding

My friend Adrian Cavlan reminds us that:

"You can easily ruin a $50,000 wedding with an $800 band, or a $15,000 wedding with a $400 DJ. Make an investment in your families, your friends and most of all yourselves that will help create the right kind of unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime!"
