Wallace Hammond

I had the honor of playing at Wallace Hammond's memorial service on Friday night at Mercury Hall. Wallace and I played in local Austin band Tribal Nation for a few years and he has been active in Austin's music scene for many years, playing with folks like James Brown, Gladys Knight, Bootsy, The Killer Bees and many more.
Wallace's wife, Beth is in business with Coby Neal who did a great job putting the whole event together. His floral arrangements are some of the best in Austin and he has been working on flowers for more than 40 years. Perhaps he can help you on your next occasion.

Rest in peace my brother Wallace!

DJ RJ,
This is Wallace's 3rd Daugher, Darshana. Thank you for making my Dad's memorial service an amazing tribute to the man we all loved. I would love to stay in contact with you and others that knew my Father. Also, you are so right about Beth and "The Flower Studio". Their work was amazing and Coby Neal pulled it all together in just under a week. I am sorry I didn't get to meet you personally, but please feel free to contact me at sweetd112178@aol.com

Everyone was truly amazed and delighted at what a fitting memorial was given for Wallace. The tribute was creative, unique, and so very appropriate. Coby was amazing and the arrangements were gorgeous and very personal. DJ-RJ (who also made my own wedding a very special day nine years ago!) did an incredible job of providing the right sounds and lyrics for the event. I knew it was all perfect when I saw Wallace's daughters smiling and dancing by the end of the night. I've known Wallace as both a professional musician and dear friend for over 20 years, and I know he would have been so proud.
